Points battle looming for the weekend…
With only two races left on the 2016 schedule the points race is starting toĀ shake down, and some interesting battles are forming.
High Energy Performance IMCA Hobby Stocks
Reigning High Energy Performance IMCA Hobby Stock Champion Leevi Runge is looking to repeat in 2016. He has use consistency to take a comfortable 22 point lead over his brother Landon with a 225 to 203 point advantage. Although anything can happen, the battle will be focused on the runner up position as Riley Raynard trails Landon Runge by a mere 2 points. Rookie standout Riese Dignan is sitting 4th overall with 180 points and Kiana Stepp rounds out the top 5 with 179 points.
IMCA Stock Cars
IMCA Stock Cars points leader Jeremy Swanson has been on fire all season, his average finish has been 2.0! Jeremy isĀ holding onto a 12 point advantage over reigning champion Jordan Durward and Chris Hortness who are tied for second place with 222 points. Highly decorated veteran Joren Boyce, who is competing in his 30th year of racing, is tied with 2013 track champion Gregg Mann for 4th with 215 points.
Kendall’s Supply IMCA Modifieds
Only 4 points separate the top 3 positions in the 2016 track champion points race. Kody Scholpp looks to add another chapter to his miraculous return to racing as he currently occupies the top spot with 217 points. The 2015 IMCA Super Nationals Modified Feature pole sitter “Mad” Mike Hagen sits three points back with 214 points. Riley Emmel is the only IMCA Modified driver in the top 5 points to registerĀ a feature win, and also the only modified driverĀ at all to registerĀ multipleĀ feature wins in 2016, sits 3rd overall with 213 points. Kelly Bauman and Richie Mann round out the top 5 with 196 and 193 points respectively.
Racing action will resume on August 20th with all classes running. Those include Slingshots, High Energy Performance IMCA Hobby Stocks, IMCA Stock Cars, and Kendall’s Supply IMCA Modifieds. The green flag will drop at 7pm local time!
